Rob Gantuangco

Writer-Performer-Artist

Hello there! I'm a Communication Arts graduate based in Metro Manila, Philippines, specializing in feature writing, narrative writing, and voice-over.

Here's something about me:

I love producing. No matter what role I take in a project, I make sure when it's all said and done that I'm proud of what the team and I accomplished. Growing up with that kind of fixation really pushed me in whatever I would venture into.
While I was pursuing a career in theater during my teen years, I was introduced to so many other facets of the arts. In the years that followed, I tried about almost everything one could do in front an audience. It wasn't until my late teens that I began to appreciate all the things that happened off-camera and off-stage too. Before long, I took an interest in directing, writing, and post-production work like: video & audio editing, copywriting, and marketing.
Although I can't say I'm an expert on all of them, I always saw it as a process. You never truly stop learning when you're in this line of work, I realized.
As you'll see when you scroll down, I'm fairly flexible, but always hard-working. Hopefully before you reach the end, I'd have convinced you that I'm someone you want to work with.

"No Change"

"No Change” is a music video that features stop-motion animation centered on a lone young man who wakes up in a strange and surreal white void. There he is surrounded by animated boxes, haunted by time and dark waters. Using the original song of the same name written and performed by OPM alt-rock band Jaguar Chapel, the experimental short is a metaphor for how bereaved adolescent males deal with the sudden loss of a parent. Many of which aren’t equipped or ready to handle the burden of the quick loss, leaving them to find and understand their own ways of responding to it, but ultimately fail to achieve proper healing.

We dedicated this short to Tito Vince, his family, and to everyone that has loved and lost.

GANTUDUBS

I grew up a big fan of animation and voice-over, but only on Christmas Day of 2017 did I create my first fandub. Nobody paid me to do it, I just felt driven that night. To my surprise, it was very well-received by the community. I did not realize it at the time, but a seed was planted. A couple of years later, I finished my degree and GantuDubs Official was born, of which I am currently the one-man crew managing.
